Born in Los Angeles, California – originally rooted from inside an independent film movement – CHIORI emerged while developing the Santa Monica Film Festival & Moxie Awards. It was a year-long indie showcase film event. Despite the success of our event, it was evident to us that we could not exist on a “shoe string” budget for very long. Modern web technology offered us unique opportunities to place the festival admin and marketing activities entirely online. The festival’s programming, administration, marketing, ticketing and even web-streaming (a novelty at the time) became entirely web based. This concept used in conjunction with some very basic gorilla marketing, resulted in what is known today as CHIORI. Technology and the event quickly became one, and the first of its kind to originate from the web-out.
Today, CHIORI is well prepared for the most up-to-date advancements in today’s digital and social age.
