Our goal is to keep things simple and effective. ChiOri was born inside an indie film festival in 1997 and is today a boutique new media agency working in Los Angeles and Barcelona. The web has entered a completely new frontier. It’s vital that you and your business make full use of important tools such as social-networking sites, blogs, wikis, video-sharing, hosted services, web application, enterprise features and mashups.
BIRDIE
Began my career in 1997 while creating the Santa Monica Film Festival & Moxie Awards in Los Angeles. Our shoe-string budget made us grow entirely from the web-out. Programming, admin, marketing, ticketing and even web-streaming (a novelty at the time) was all web based. This experience in conjunction with Gorilla type street marketing gave way ChiOri Media.
I attended the Lisbon School of Art & Design and was fortunate to travel throughout Europe extensively. Later, I extended my studies in marketing at Santa Monica College and UCLA.
I’m fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese, and one of my greatest assets is my exposure to both US and EU cultures.
NICK
Nick started as a web developer in the early 90′s in New Orleans, LA. In those days, the web developer was the entire team and he was required to learn the whole job from consulting, to design, to development and, eventually, programming. As a result, he was privilege to work on projects such as the original Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse site, Cafe Du Monde, The Louisiana Superdome and many of New Orleans famous hotels like the Royal Sonesta. This background has prepared him with the understanding and patience to work with designers and programmers and bridge the gap between technology, information and design.
Over the past 15 years, Nick has worked in both large firms doing work for clients such as BellSouth, The Coca-Cola Company and King & Spalding as well as having worked with some of the top consulting firms in the country, such as Definition 6, Engauge Digital, and BellSouth Online.
MATTEO
After getting in 2001 a degree in mathematics, theoretical computer science, I started studying the web programming languages to build my first websites. Since then I have been using the web to learn how to create the web. Today this means CMS customization, like theme editing or modules development, and bridging across different platforms, as social media or content-providing solutions.
My aim is to deliver my clients a user-friendly, well documented and robust interface for their web projects. To accomplish this apparently simple task requires organizational skills and creativity: this is what I love of this job.
